2. Where will OCS be conducting hydrographic surveys in the future?
The 2008 edition of the NOAA Hydrographic Survey Priorities (NHSP) provides a snap shot of areas depicting the current hydrographic needs of the nation. The NHSP prioritizes areas in need of surveying for general and long term project scheduling.
3. Where can I find out about hydrographic survey standards and requirements?
The 2008 edition of the NOS Hydrographic Surveys Specifications and Deliverables detail the requirements for hydrographic surveys to be undertaken either by NOAA field units or by organizations under contract to NOAA’s Office of Coast Survey. The NOS Hydrographic Surveys Specifications and Deliverables closely follow the International Hydrographic Organization’s Standards for Hydrographic Surveys, Special Publication 44, Fourth Edition, April 1998, specifically for Order 1 surveys.
