Reported Hazards; Nearshore Mississippi
In response to concerns from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, United States Coast Guard Sector Mobile and FEMA, side-scan sonar surveys are being conducted in four areas along the Mississippi coast. The surveys are part of a pilot program to help determine the amount and extent of debris that poses serious risk to fishing, shrimping and recreational vessels.
