BookletChart™
BookletChart(r) The NOAA BookletChart™ is a product that you can print at home for free. BookletCharts are made to help recreational boaters locate themselves on the water.

The BookletChart is reduced in scale and divided into pages for convenience, but otherwise contains all the information of the full-scale nautical chart. Bar scales are also reduced in scale, but are accurate when used to measure distances in a BookletChart. Excerpts from the United States Coast Pilot are included. Most chart notes are consolidated on a single page for easy reference. Emergency information for the charted area is printed on the back cover.

BookletCharts are updated every week with Notices to Mariners.

The Bookletchart Page Index shows the general layout of the chart among the printed pages; it does not show the exact area of coverage for any particular page. Differences between the index page (showing general coverage) and each page’s actual coverage are unavoidable.

Why aren’t the index page images and the actual pages the same?
During construction, all border pages are sized as full pages so they can be viewed side-by-side in a book format. With this format, significant overlap (up to 95 percent), may exist on adjacent pages.

For the best display, try to print on both sides of the paper. If your printer does not support duplex printing, staple single-sided pages back-to-back.

If you are viewing the BookletChart electronically, enable two-page viewing. In Adobe Acrobat, use the View – Page Display menu option.

Please tell us what you think about this service using the Coast Survey's Inquiry Page.

Special commemorative BookletCharts are available for the War of 1812 events!

NOTE: Use one of NOAA's official printed or digital charts for navigation. BookletCharts DO NOT fulfill chart carriage requirements for regulated commercial vessels under Titles 33 and 46 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
